Social Work Self Referral

If you want Social Work advice for yourself, or if you think a friend or relative in Edinburgh needs some help, you can organise this yourself, simply by contacting Social Care Direct.  Your GP doesn't need to do this for you, and in normal circumstances will ask you to do it yourself. 

Reasons for contacting Social Care Direct might be that you need help due to illness, frailty, disability or concerns about safety of an adult or child that's at risk of harm. This includes assessments for a package of care to help look after someone at home.

Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5pm

Friday 8.30am-3.55pm

In the evening and at weekends or public holidays, you can call Emergency Social Work, free of charge from a landline. Your mobile phone provider may charge for 0800 calls.
